I love skirting! But then again I love french country! I love wood paneling too if it’s done right like you said.
I think bleached woods are not the focus anymore. People seem to be choosing warmer, darker wood tones.

Love the skirting
I have been wanting to do my kitchen in a natural cottage feel…. I think the wood paneling would be amazing

So I am tired of farmhouse and can’t stand white on white on white… but these ultra dark purple and brown tones are not the solution for me. I like the color drenched blue, but only because that’s my favorite color. Skirting is a no way for me though.
I went into a restaurant in Texas recently, it had the old style wood paneling on all walls, turquoise chairs, and gold booths! LOVED! 🥰
A lot of that was a big no for me. I’ve had a home with wall-to-wall dark wood paneling, I’m scarred for life! 😂

Wow, I love Kristen, and I’m here for all of her trend reporting, but I’m not really loving any of these colors, or the Grandma 80’s decor. But maybe it’ll grow on me, I’ll keep an open mind 🙂

Kristen you made my day. I am glad to hear about the color of the year being a burgundy lol My kitchen is already bold/transitional and close to that color (Brandywine) but it is a stained maple from 9 years ago with large modern brushed nickel pulls and light dramatic granite. We invested in this kitchen with high end cabinetry so I cannot really change it yet because my husband feels it is a crime to paint them. I considered painting them white or cream because I feel it being dated but I will keep it for now so I can be on trend for once! 😂 I just added two new light pendants to refresh. If I could go back, I would have had white. Next house I suppose! For now I will enjoy my burgundy since it seems to be back again. Yay.

I got rid of this color last year from our cinema room and I’m so happy about!
I wouldn’t go further than an ottoman with the skirting simply because, although it adds charm, it is a dust collector and not so easy to clean regularly. Don’t forget about the option of toe kick cabinets for extra storage when designing your kitchen. Great overview!
I luv all the new styles uou introduced today. Color drenching may be my favorite. Wavy lampshades, going to look immediately on Amazon for them. Fringe or light ruffles are very interesting. Thanks for showing the trends and your new home is beautiful.

Skirting? ABSOLUTELY NO!
Kristen, I love you. I love your ideas. I love that you keep us in touch with trends, but I had the paneling on my walls back in the 80s and I painted over them and they still I wanted them down so I would say no don’t do it. Put framing on your walls instead. Picture framing. The skirts are cute, especially if you don’t have any under cabinet storage like if you have a pedestal sink in your half bath. ❤

You should decorate your home base on what you like and not trends. If you look at the decor on YouTube everyone has the same decor and furnishing and flooring.

Hi Kristen! Love your videos and your decorating style. Your home is beautiful! However, as a lover of cats I just love your cat!! What breed of cat is it and what is its name? Maybe you can talk one day about installing fake wooden beams. I have a kitchen and family room very long and would like to install cross beams to make the space more cozy.
I like all these trends. The colors are beautiful. With those shades of red do not skip priming the wall though, gray primer will make life easier too.
