  1. Near the start, all those frames above a bed makes my heart quiver. Living in an earthquake zone, that’s considered suicide. There are special hooks, but still a risk.

Not to mention Agatha Christy loved the idea of over the head of the bed pictures bludgeoning our poor murder victims. Great story, but a poor night’s sleep.

  2. Exactly what I was looking for ! Thanks! After that I’ll look for art installation as I discovered wall decor is still art.

  3. 1) Put up lots of family photos and friend photos.
    2) Put up a bunch of your kids’ artwork. If you don’t have kids of your own, niblings’ artwork or friends’ kids artwork is valid.
    3) Job done. Enjoy your life.

  4. i bought a roll of wallpaper that my mom put up in my childhood bedroom. a vintage wizard of oz scene. it was not cheap, but for my subconscious, is worth it.

  5. I love this! I’m going to try the frame craft, yes, but more important I love your attitude and message. I have an embroidered tapestry on my bedroom that I bought from a woman in Mexico that ok, maybe it’s touristy, but it was a vacation that I enjoyed, and hey, it’s pretty and colorful and dimensional! I also have two tiny paintings on thick wood by a friend on the edge of my stairs to my kitchen, so you see them as you walk down. I never get tired of them. So yes, put things in your house that make you happy.

  6. I had a macrame wall hanging but after the first 2 minutes of this video, I paused it, took it down, and put up a Live, Laugh, Love sign. OK, now to watch the rest of the video.

  7. Loooved this video, you gave me lots of ideas and inspiration!!!! Pls make more craft videos like this if you haven’t and you feel like it, as a fellow sloppy, lazy girl this is genius and imma definitely actually do it! 😌

  8. Macrame wall decor was cheesy in the 1970s ( i remember that era and made macrame purses) and even if it’s updated and oversize, it’s still cheesy now.

  9. You can also go to art museums and in the gift shop they will have the same art printed in various sizes and it’s usually really cheap like $2 for a 5×7. Not only is it a great resource but you’ll have a story to go with it which is more personal than mass printed wall decor from Target

  10. So glad I found your channel! "You don’t know how tall I am dog." πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thanks for the reminder that there are no rules. And for reminding me that I don’t actually want macrame, I’m just feeling lost.

  11. the macrame…I painted doiles that I had and they look dope on a contrasting color. also, don’t forget the ceiling, you can soften it with macrame pinned up a certain way

  12. Ive found so many original works of art at goodwill. Found a Jean Williams watercolor yesterday for 10 of a New Orleans lighthouse. Found auction pieces by same artist ranging 200 to 500. Ive found acrylic, oil, block art, solk string, etc. All bought for 20 or less but I do have HOBBY LOBBY take out the acidic backing and mats to stop damage. Depending on the frame, if damaged or cheap, I change but try to keep if in good shape or matches the piece. I have a print from 1930s and kept the cheap frame it’s in cause it added to its character. I also buy pottery pieces when I find them, none of them more than 7 dollars. I’ve got quite a collection going.

  13. You can also easily use some napkins or tissue paper for the printed Frames, they’re easier to work around the creases of the frames and also are cheaper most times

  14. I love that you talk about tapestries instead of macrame or using wallpaper as art. I actually have a combination of those thoughts and use a bedsheet as a tapestry lol

  15. I like simple designs for some rooms, like a zen bedroom and textures for the living room. Macrame is a minimalist choice. While sculptures and shadow boxed frames add depth and demension, they also can be busy. I really think art is a feeling and speaks to the room while telling a story about our own personality.

I wouldnt do something because its popular, but i would tie things together around a general theme. I choose color, texture and art around one subject and hold to that design. Though the theme can be subtle, its important for grounding things together.

  16. Omg, your idea "Look at your space and notice what box your subconscious is trying to make you work within" is SUCH a good exercise!!

  17. I when a collection of vintage pieces of art for my new place which I’m waiting to move into. I plan to do a gallery wall in the dining room and I have no idea what I’m doing but these are great tips.
